At Pittcon 2009, Waters Corporation introduced the new Waters Empower 2 Business Intelligence Manager (BIM), a web-based dashboard software solution that provides rapid analysis of critical chromatography performance data for faster, more qualified decisions on laboratory and business operations.
Designed with proven business intelligence concepts that have been successful across numerous industries, BIM’s intuitive interface allows lab managers and system administrators using Empower 2 Enterprise Chromatography Software to fully understand and exploit the strengths of their laboratories and identify areas that need added support.
“As the industry’s leading chromatography data software solution, Empower not only maximizes operation of LC systems, it captures critical utilization data, such as number of samples run by a chromatographic system, number of injections or methods utilized by project or chromatographic system, and chromatographic system use by personnel,” said Thomas Tucker, Informatics Product Manager for the Waters Division. “BIM aggregates this raw utilization data from all systems on the Empower 2 network and converts that data into easy-to-read dashboard visualizations that ultimately provide lab managers with an added analytical dimension: analysis of their LC operations.”
BIM is designed to increase efficiency and revenue through early detection of utilization trends as well as improved strategic planning and resource allocation. More importantly, BIM will help customers optimize their LC resources to align laboratory operations with business goals for results that are most valuable to organizational success.
Tucker continued, “With today’s increasingly competitive marketplace, our customers are focusing even more on lab efficiency than any time in the recent past. BIM is a powerful tool for our customers, and fits perfectly with Waters’ goal to be their strategic business partner. Not only will labs benefit from Empower software and BIM capabilities, but Waters is also providing BIM customers with laboratory management consultative services. Our dedicated specialists are trained on helping laboratories interpret their BIM data and developing a plan to align their LC operations with business goals.”
