The CEO of Amneal reported this week that the company’s facility in Long Island, NY is already reaching max capacity.
The company is now planning to add around 100,000 square feet to its 500,000-square foot plant. Amneal also plans to hire about 400 more workers over the next 18 months. Currently, the facility has just over 700 workers and the company employs about 5,000 people throughout the U.S., EU and Asia.
Amneal is the country’s fifth biggest generic drugs manufacturer. The company has not disclosed how much it is investing in the new expansion.
