Sanofi to Invest up to $2B in Biologics Production

Sanofi announced at a meeting that it plans to invest about $673 million annually for two to three years to boost its biologics production.

According to a Reuters article, Sanofi plans to invest about $673 million annually over the next two to three years in the area of biologics production because of its strong growth potential.

Biologics treat a variety of medical illnesses and conditions that have no other treatments available, but they are also more expensive than traditional products, the story said.

Philippe Luscan, Sanofi executive VP of global industrial affairs said the investments would follow 3.3 billion euros already spent in this area in the last five years.
