The U.S. FDA has hired Cynthia Schnedar as the director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research's (CDER) Office of Compliance.
Schnedar comes to the FDA from the Department of Justice, where she served as the deputy inspector general since 2010. Schnedar will fill a position left vacant by Howard Sklamberg, who was promoted to the position of deputy commissioner for Global Regulatory Operations and Policy last January.
The FDA states that Schnedar's expertise in law enforcement and extensive experience as an attorney will be valuable when it comes to analyzing complex statutory and regulatory issues.
