The most — and least — expensive places to run a pharma plant
It’s all about location — but just how much cheaper is it to run a pharma plant in India than in France?
Recently, The Boyd Company, which provides location counseling and cost-comparative analysis for global corporate corporations, released a report detailing their estimates for the price of doing pharma business around the world.
For the analysis, Boyd looked at a wide range of factors including labor costs, utilities, land acquisition, construction and taxes. To determine the final operating costs for each of the “biomanufacturing hotspots” included in the report, Boyd added up what it would take to run a hypothetical 300,000 square-foot facility with about 300 employees.
